Breil Home Entertainment Warning Screens

1st Warning
(1977-1984, 1987)

Warning: On a red background, it says "FBI WARNING". Next to it is the FBI logo of the time and below all that is the warning text.
Variants:
  • A B&W version is used on B&W releases of classic movies.
  • The same warning is also used for Earthvision Home Video and Haggerty Cartoons Home Video releases, but on those the background is magenta.
  • But on 90's Earthvision releases there is no drop shadow.
  • There is also a variant with a black background.

FX: None.

Availability: Seen on all Marine Video Corporation, Breil Video and early STAR/Breil releases at the time.

Scare Factor: None.



2nd Warning
(1984-1999 (1998 in Canada))

Warning: Same as the previous warning but the background is purple. On 1987-1989 STAR/Breil releases the warning cut to a still version of their logo twice.

Variant: A B&W version is used on B&W releases of classic movies.
FX: None unless you want to include both cuts to the STAR/Breil logo.


Availability: Seen on STAR/Breil, Breil Home Video and Breil Home Entertainment tapes of the time. The B&W variant only appeared on one tape: the 1989 STAR/Breil release of Haunted Mountain.

Scare Factor: None.




3rd Warning (Canadian Warning)
(1998-)

Warning: Same as the previous warning but the warning text scrolls up twice, once in English and once in French.

FX: The warning text scrolling.


Availability: You won't find it anywhere in the US but is easy to find in Canada.

Scare Factor: None.



4th Warning
(1999-)

Warning: Same as the 2nd warning, except the text is now modern-looking and the background is a wallpaper of the current Breil globe design. After this screen it cuts to another screen with the same BG. "ATTENTION" is on that screen, the warning text is below it.

FX: None.


Availability: The FBI warning screen is no longer current since 2005, but the Attention screen is sill current today and used on all Breil DVD's and Blu-Ray Discs. It is even used on Sail Entertainment releases. And as of 2010 on every release from 2005-present it starts out with the Attention screen.

Scare Factor: None.



5th Warning
(2005-)

Warning: Same as the 2005-present 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment FBI Warning screen.

FX: None.


Availability: Currently used on all Breil releases, save for Railroad Home Entertainment releases which used their warning screen and didn't even use the Breil Home Entertainment logo!

Scare Factor: None.



6th Warning

(2009-2010)

Warning: On a black screen we see "WARNING" and the warning text below it in white.

FX: None.


Availability: Seen at the end of programs on Breil DVD's and Blu-Ray Discs of the era.
