Charon Television

Background: Charon Television was a television distributor, barter syndicator and ad sales company that was formed in 1978 as part of the conglomerate simply known as Charon. The company primarily distributed game shows, live programs, special events and other odds and ends, but it has produced some original shows in later years. In late 2007, Charon exited the television market and became a media holder for film and television, only to go dormant in 2012. In 2014, Charon was put into debt following a failed attempt at acquiring FremantleMedia and it was absorbed into Clarion LLC (both companies were originally part of a partnership that was established in 1990.)
