Background: Enigma Studios was a game development company formed in 1998. It was originally known as Football Games and it primarily made PC games based on the Hey Arnold!series. Harvest Entertainment acquired the company in 2002 and renamed it to its current identity. Enigma only produced three games before it became dormant in 2007, ultimately dying alongside Harvest in 2009 when the latter filed for bankruptcy.
Logo: On a black background, a football is knocked onto the screen, landing in the middle. "Football Games" in white fades in below the football.
FX/SFX: The football and text.
Cheesy Factor: Which look very crude.
Music/Sounds: Two bouncing sounds, followed by the sound of children laughing.
Availability: Seen on various Hey Arnold! games for the PC, such as Vacant Lot Bash.
Scare Factor: None, it's more unprofessional than scary.
Logo: On a black background, we see Eustace (of Courage the Cowardly Dog) reading a magazine. The Storm Goddess from one of the episodes is on the back cover. After turning
some pages, he turns the book sideways and an insert comes out. He turns the insert towards the viewer, revealing the company logo (a face shaped like a square with two halves in different shades of grey) and "Enigma" beneath the logo in a Jokerman font. Major Dr. Ghastly (Evil Con Carne) and Eris (The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) are on the left and right sides of the logo. The camera zooms in closely to the point that only the logo is shown.
Later Variant: The text doesn't appear at first. The letters of Enigma fly in beneath the logo and everything disappears (via an effect resembling when a TV set is turned off.
FX/SFX: Eustace's movements and the zoom in. The text flying in and the logo disappearing near the end.
Music/Sounds: A theme featuring hums and drips, followed by three drum beats, a voice saying "Enigma" and a whoosh. Throughout, we could hear Eustace saying "Huh?" "What?"
"Heheheheh." The early version doesn't have the theme.
Availability: Seen on Cartoon Cartoons Unite (the PS2 version has the version with no theme.)
Scare Factor: None.
Logo:On a black background, we see various grey particles appear. After a while, we see what appears to be a face. The particles combine together to form an abstract face, (one half is light grey, the other is dark grey), and "ENIGMA" (backwards "N") appears below in a white Helvetica font.
Variant: The face had a cruder look, the dark grey part of the face was dark purple and "ENIGMA" is in a Jokerman font. Based on the first logo.
FX/SFX: The particles and the logo forming.
Music/Sounds: A shriek, followed by a dramatic choir theme, ending in a harsh droning note.
Availability: Rare in the US (Enigma's titles were reportedly sold in bookstores overseas), but much more common in the United Kingdom. Games that have this areMonster Dog, and Mousey. The still variant could be seen on Evil Con Carne: Escape from Bunny Island, which could only be found in a combo pack alongside Cartoon Cartoons Pinball.
Scare Factor: High to nightmare.
