Gingo Animation

Background:Gingo Animation, LLC is an American animation studio based in North Hollywood, California. Founded by in 1982 by Geo G. and Michael Wildshill, the company was first known as Geo G. Productions, the studio has been owned by Universal Pictures, a division of Comcast through its wholly owned subsidiary NBCUniversal, since 2004. The company did not use an on-screen logo until 2002.

(July 31, 2002-March 5, 2010)

Nickname: "The Zooming Logo"

Logo: On a colored background (varying on the movie), we see the text "GiNGO" zooming in slowly, while the text "ANIMATION" fades in.

Variants: The color of the background changes depending on the film.
  • The Gabriel Garza Movie: Gradient purple
  • Computeropolis and Woo La La: Black
  • M.I.S.S.I.O.N.: Green
  • BJ and Wally: Sky blue
  • Computeropolis 2: Navy blue
  • Swapped: Magenta
  • Computeropolis 3: Bright blue
Closing Variant: A still version of the logo appears at the end of Paint World.

FX/SFX: The logo zooming in.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Common. Appeared on every Gingo film during the time period, such as The Gabriel Garza Movie, Computeropolis, and Woo La La, among others. The still variant appeared at the end of Paint World. The logo was first seen on The Gabriel Garza Movie, released on July 31, 2002, and made its final theatrical appearance on Computeropolis 3, released on March 5, 2010.

(July 5, 2011-)

Nicknames: "The "i"", "The Zooming Logo II"

Logo: On a blue background, we zoom out of the letter "i" in the blue text "GiNGO" on a white background. The smaller black text "ANIMATION" then fades in below the logo.

Variants:
  • On Gabriel Garza 3, the logo is still.
  • On Computeropolis: The Deep Web, the text "ANIMATION" is omitted.

FX/SFX: The camera zooming out.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Very common. The logo debuted on Gabriel Garza, released on July 5, 2011, and has appeared on every new Gingo film since then, such as Plucky Chicken, Quest, Paradoria, The Planetokio Movie, DCL: Desktop Component League, among others.
