Logo descriptions by SnowflakesOmega
Background: The Afrikaans name translates to Royal Entertainment Corporation. Starting out as a soap opera producer in 1998 in the fictional African island of Eutomnia for Afrikaans-speaking people, the company has made it's own move through movies, variety/reality TV shows and documentaries.
Nicknames: "Royal Green Shield and Lions I", "The Eutomnian Shield"
Logo: On a black background a green light appears. It starts to make a green shield after 2 seconds, which then turns third-dimensional and a silver border appears. We cut into a live-action lion running to the left in slow-motion. Then there's another cut in which we see the close-up of the shield, the lion then jumps near it, freezes and flashes into another 2D lion, which is now standing and facing at the left. We zoom out from the shield and ornaments draw between it. The green words "KONINKLIKE VERMAAK KORPORASIE" in italic zoom out and flash. Another green lights appears behind the finished logo.
Variant: There's a short variant that starts with the company name flashing.
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: This logo has primitive CGI all written over it. The lion is poorly chroma-keyed into the animation, and the music sounds like it was made on a cheap workstation.
Music/Sounds: A majestic, yet bombastic fanfare that sounds like it came from a 16-bit game, played with whooshes and other sounds. The short version as only a male voice saying the name.
Availability: Ultra rare. This was only seen on early productions by them, most of them featuring the logo were made during the early 2000's. First film to include the logo was Breek (2000).
Scare Factor: Medium. The logo itself is very dark. Minimal for the short version.
Nicknames: "Royal Green Shield and Lions II", "The Eutomnian Shield II"
Logo: On a white background the camera pans from a top view of the formed green shield of the previous logo, with the lion and ornaments. We fade into a normal view of the logo as we zoom out, and a green light appears behind the shield. The company name, letter by letter, moves down rotating and starts flashing once it is already placed.
- A short version of the logo was spotted, that started once again with the company name flashing.
- Some soap operas and talk shows had the black text "LANDWYE PRODUKSIE HUIS SEDERT 1998" ("Nationwide production house since 1998" in Afrikaans) or "GESENKE" ("Presents" in Afrikaans) fading in below the company name. On talk shows featuring the variant, it had it combined with the short version of the logo.
FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: Not so bad CGI but it looked really outdated during it's lifetime at the 2010's.
- 2003-2005: The same fanfare from the previous logo.
- 2005-2013: A new majestic fanfare.
- The short version, again, just featured a voice saying the company name.
Availability: Was common in Eutomnia during the 2000's and early 2010's until it's replacement with the following logo. Still found on movies and reruns of their shows from it's time.
Scare Factor: Low.
Nicknames: "Royal Green Shield and Lions III", "The Eutomnian Shield III", "Shield Without Ornaments", "Simple Shield", "Sliding Shield"
Logo: We see an outlined rectangular box on a black background. The same shield from the previous logos in 2D and without ornaments slides in from it and places near the left. A line then appears from the box, slides and stops next to the logo. The right side of the box is filled in gray, "KONINKLIKE VERMAAK KORPORASIE" in three lines fades in at the gray portion of the box.
- When HD was introduced to Eutomnian TVs in 2013, "HD" appeared below the logo once it was done.
- A similar variant from the 2nd logo, "LANDWYE PRODUKSIE HUIS SEDERT 1998" or "GESENKE" would also fade in below the logo. In 2013, it was combined with the HD variant.
FX/SFX: Clean 2D animation.
Music/Sounds: Either none or the announcer saying the company name.
Availability: Common in Eutomnian productions, either from TV or films. The HD variant is extinct and was only used for a whole year on TVs, and newer prints of 2013 shows were replaced with the normal logo.
Scare Factor: None. It's a professional logo, but people who grew up with the former logos would be bored after watching it.
